The Play Hut, PLLC is a private clinic in an outpatient setting specializing in Occupational Therapy and Speech Language Therapy for children from birth - 17 years of age. The Play Hut is founded by a certified and licensed Occupational Therapist whose mission is to serve the needs of children in the community to succeed in the home, in school, at play, and with other peers in a fun playful environment. We believe in providing our patients with skilled therapy with a strong emphasis on parent/caregiver education to ensure success with skills gained in therapy for carry over in the home. 

What is occupational and speech therapy?​

Occupational Therapy

Occupational Therapy focuses on the child through the occupation of purposeful play to address the following:

  • meeting developmental milestones 

  • addressing diagnoses and underlying issues causing the child difficulty with daily life tasks

  • assisting the child with any physical, sensory, neurological, social, or cognitive deficit to increase their independence to be self-sufficient.  

 

Speech Therapy 

Speech-Language therapy focus on increasing self-esteem and academic success by giving children a voice and skills to be effective and efficient communicators at home, in school, and with peers by targeting articulation, reading, and all aspects of language (expressive, receptive, and pragmatic).

  • Early intervention ( birth - 3 years) in the child’s natural environment to increase infant and toddler development 

  • Outpatient Occupational Therapy addressing many disorders and needs such as:
